Dvorák's String Quartet No. 12, or better known as the American Quartet, is one of his best known works. The melodies remind audiences of what we now think of as American melodies. I transcribed this work for a quartet I performed with in college and we really enjoyed it. Balancing delicate melodies in difficult ranges with wide dynamic demands make this a challenging but rewarding piece. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Periodically, I will arrange tunes for saxophone ensembles - whether this be for use at clinics or just for fun. I will update this with the favorites as I continue arranging.
An easy hit sure to please any crowd.
A recognizable pop song that is great fun for both the musicians and the audience. Arrangement leaves room stylistic improvisations.
Scales, while very important for our technical facilities, always seem to take the backseat in a child's secondary instrumental music education. They may be taught and used in the classroom, but students tend to not want to practice them at home. In an effort to help that, I have created some "Sicc Scale Beats" that facilitate long tones for various scales to help with the learning process. Enjoy!
